WiscoREIA’s Appleton Main Meeting Always Meets on the second Wednesday of the Month at the Leg Lamp Lodge from 7:00pm - 9:00pm!

 Hosted by: Jason Lund

Speaker:
 Kevin Birr

People ask the question to all of us when we’re young- “What do you want to do when you grow up?”-my response was always real estate. Most kids I know say a “Doctor” a “Vet” a “Princess” (at least that is one of my girl’s responses right now!). Growing up I always had a passion for real estate and am proud to say I am pursing my dream. Here is a little background on how it all got started...

Knowing at a young age that I wanted to do something with real estate, I attended UW-Oshkosh and graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and emphases in entrepreneurship and real estate.  After graduation I started my career as a Personal Banker for Wells Fargo.  I quickly learned that a desk job was not my style.  However, I did enjoy working with the people and the finance side of that career.  While working in the banking industry I gained a skill set that would help me with clients and the process of buying real estate. Shortly thereafter, I worked for a very knowledgeable investor for about 2 years flipping homes. Afterwards in October of 2012, I started my first company Birr Investments, LLC flipping homes. In 2014 I decided to start investing in rentals as my flipping company Birr Investments, LLC had rapidly grown.  Fast forward a couple more years and I started a residential new construction company, partnered with an experienced real estate agent to form One Realty Group, LLC running a team of realtors, and started investing in commercial real estate. I toss around the idea of land development (when the time is right) as well, which has always been a huge interest of mine.

I have a vast knowledge in the field of real estate from my experiences; however, being fairly young there is still a lot to learn and one can never stop learning.  I take a lot of pride in my companies and strive to create a pleasant experience for all involved.  Having flipped almost 200 homes I’ve seen and have been through a lot of situations and nothing seizes to amaze me.  Real estate and investing is an extremely interesting field and there are many ways to succeed and grow.  In my personal opinion real estate is the best investment one can make.  In the future I hope to continue growing my business and expand throughout the US.  I am a very honest and genuine hard-working person and am excited for what the future holds.

Outside of my passion for real estate I am a firm believer in giving back and volunteering.  I try to volunteer on a monthly basis and help the community any way possible. Over the years I’ve been able to donate time and resources to several local organizations from B.A.B.E.S of the Fox Cities, Feeding America, Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, Walk for Autism, Red Day, KW Cares, and many more.

I enjoy spending time with my growing family, friends, and also my two dogs.  I like watching and playing pretty much all sports and love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and a round of golf.  I also have a passion for motorcycles, classic cars, and racing.

In conclusion, I’m inspired by good quotes so here are some of my favorites:

“When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find ways to do it”’
-Dr.David Schwartz
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right”-Henry Ford
“Think big and none of the little things can hold you back”-Author Unknown
“One can never consent to creep when one feels the impulse to soar”-Helen Keller
“The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary”-Raymond F. Baerwald.
