Join us for a no-fluff, experience-driven session with Norm Kopesky, a seasoned investor, educator, and passionate advocate for common-sense landlord-tenant laws.
With 15+ years in the long-term rental game—including single-family homes, multi-family units, commercial spaces, and even motels—Norm has seen it all. As the former President and current VP of the Fox Valley Apartment Association (FVAA) and a leader within AANW, he’s not just a landlord—he’s a voice for the rental community at both judicial and legislative levels.
In this session, Norm will break down:
✅ The legal essentials every landlord should know
✅ How to protect yourself and your properties
✅ Best practices for tenant screening, leases, and compliance
✅ Tips for growing a resilient and profitable rental portfolio
Norm also co-hosts the Real Estate & Cigars Meetup at his Appleton lounge, Appleton Cigar Co., where business, life, and cigars blend seamlessly. Outside of real estate, he and his wife Heather (married 26 years!) juggle four kids, multiple businesses, and deep roots in Wisconsin’s volunteer community.
If you're in real estate—or thinking about it—this is a must-attend.
Build wealth for the long haul. Protect it with smart legal moves.
Speaker: Norm Kopesky
Married for 26 years, 4 children 23-16, small business owner since 1997, started in real estate in 2010. Full time husband, father and friend, I squeak business in on the edges. Went full time real estate in 2019, grew our portfolio to 178 units, trying different differing strategies, sfh, small multifamily, mixed use, commercial and motels. Norm served as the President of the Fox Valley Apartment Association for 3 years, now the VP of FVAA & AANW we reach the long term rental business and are heavily involved judicially, and legislatively for common sense LL Tenant law.
I love sharing the lessons learned over the years; life, business and real estate. What steps we have taken to shift our strategies in marriage, parenting, business and real estate. How coaching has improved our lives and business', that setting a vision for your life, and building a peer group that drives you towards becoming the person you need to become to reach your goals is paramount.
Mindset, professionalism, understanding yourself and your business are some of my favorite topics.
WiscoREIA's Eau Claire Meeting Always Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm!
Hosts: Shaun Tutor & Ryan Gray

Shaun became interested in real estate two years ago. He has a home improvement company and investing company, where he focuses on flipping and BRRRRing real estate with his brother. Shaun and his wife, Sam, have a podcast called “Tutors of Life” where they research life, so you don’t have to.
Shaun loves business, real estate, and investing, which are the main topics he discusses on his podcast. His first company he built, started in 2017 and sold in November of 2021 to focus on real estate. Shaun enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, Mimi and taking cruises in one of his classic cars.

Ryan began in real estate and business in 2017. He owns Stable Living LLP which has 14 licensed Adult Family Homes and does in-home care for over 80 clients. This business employs over 100 staff and is where a lot of my time is spent.
Ryan has grown a portfolio of rentals that has 550 doors currently. The majority of the acquisitions have been done using creative financing with little money down. My focus is on structuring deals with creative finance and finding deals off market. My wife Eva
Gray is a CPA who focuses on tax planning, mastering business plans, and self-managing the properties. He also started a flipping and wholesaling business called 715 Home Buyers with Brandon Anderson which does over 20 transactions a year.
Ryan also has two children Josephine and Drew. They love to go camping together in the summer and vacationing in the winter. In his free time, he also likes to play baseball, deer hunt, and ride motorcycles.
