Speaker: Mike Best

Real Estate Professional | Entrepreneur | Lake Fishing Guide
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire in 1996, Mike Best returned to his hometown of Cable, Wisconsin, and launched a computer and IT business that still thrives today. Not long after, Mike purchased Recreational Rental Properties, Inc. from his mother, Barbara Best, who founded the company in 1986. Under Mike’s leadership, the company has grown significantly and now manages over 86 privately-owned vacation homes across four counties, including two of the area’s most iconic destinations: Grand Pines Resort in Hayward and Tagalong Rentals in Birchwood.
Running a full-scale property management company and overseeing well-known resorts has taught Mike how to deliver exceptional customer service and given him an in-depth knowledge of the region’s lakes, communities, and real estate market. With more than 25 years of experience in the Northwoods rental market, Mike brings a unique and highly informed perspective to his real estate career—blending entrepreneurial know-how with a passion for helping others find their place in the Hayward and Cable area.
Mike’s recent work managing Grand Pines Resort on Round Lake—a lake known for world-class fishing and crystal-clear waters—has only deepened his appreciation for the area and what makes it so special.
In addition to his business and real estate work, Mike runs a popular fishing guide service. A lifelong outdoorsman, Mike grew up hunting and fishing the woods and waters of Northwest Wisconsin, and today he enjoys those same pastimes with his wife and twin daughters. Whether he’s helping clients find their dream lake home or guiding anglers to trophy fish, Mike’s love for the Northwoods is at the heart of everything he does.
Don’t be surprised if you spot him out on Round Lake—either helping someone reel in a walleye or close on their perfect Northwoods getaway.
